No Headboard Required!

The model # K43 WB is a super heavy duty king size steel bed frame that can stand alone by itself or bolt up to a bed that has a head board only. What separates this frame from all others is that can hold a whole lot more than just a mattress and box spring. It can also support various mattresses like memory foam, gel foam, and even latex rubber beds. The 9 leg frame was originally designed for heavy duty service like a king size softside waterbed the heaviest application you would need this type of support for. To put it in perspective a deep fill king softside waterbed weighs approximately 1150 lbs. + the bed weight + the weight of an adult couple. So if you are concerned about usage by plus size people who surpass weight limits on regular bed frames you will be very impressed with the durability of this unit.. The K43 WB Metal Waterbed frame can be used with a bed that has a bolt up headboard or no headboard at all. To learn more about the fit specifications and more please scroll below.

This is the best bed frame we have ever had. It is very strong and easy to put together. We now just purchased a second one. We have very heavy latex mattress’s (/king size) and these are the only frames that are strong enough to support them. Great quality and outstanding customer service. Would recommend this company and bed frame to everyone.

My husband and I are both over 300 lbs and we were looking for bed rails that would not squeak, creek, or break. We needed something that would support the weight of the mattress and box spring, us, and our two children, who love to sit on our bed with us and watch t.v. I must say, I have found the rails I was looking for. We are extremely happy. The rails arrived before they we supposed to and the contents were all there. The directions were simple and the rails were easy to put together.

After several moves, our existing bed frame had turned into a squeaky mess. Tightening everything would silence the bed for a day, and then I would once again found myself waking up overnight from the noise of rolling over! We ordered this frame, have been sleeping on it for about a week, and it is gloriously silent. Highly recommend!!

Dimphna, Glad it worked for you. Happy quiet sleeping! Doug

The shipping speed was awesome as we purchased our matress and are waiting for delivery. The frame has been in the box in the living room for 2 weeks! I’ve been impatiently waiting for the delivery men to come tomorrow with the new bed. So finally sat up the frame! I am not impressed 🙁 I have very little handyman type skills but can follow directions if given. There was definately not enough details in the directions for me. Its all set up but I feel like its not suppose to shake when I rock it. I’m very bummed and still hoping I can use it come tomorrow…I received 2 emails asking me to review it while waiting for my mattress. There is no additional directions here on the website which I was looking for, so now I’m going to search youtube and see if I can find any hints to make sure I did it right.

Can I put wooden slats over this bed frame instead of a box spring?
What is the height of the frame?

  14. Douglas Belleville

Sammy, 7 1/4 inches tall. This type of frame ordinarly would have a boxspring or foundation resting on it them mattress on that. If you wanted to eleminate the boxpspring a person could come up with a creative way to do this. Slat pack that the slats are very closely spaced or decking it out like waterbed decking with thick plywood or OSB. Good luck Hope this gets you in the right direction. Doug

OUTSTANDING BED FRAME AND GREAT SERVICE!!

We were looking for a super strong, rock solid and stable frame for our king latex mattress and foundation. THIS IS IT… NO QUESTION. We were also considering the Knickerbocker “Monster” but the following features made the Glideway K43 the clear choice for us.

    – Nine legs with three under each side rail… the KB Monster only has seven legs with two under each side rail
    – 1.5″ angle iron… yes, the KB Monster has 2″ tall side rails (still 1.5″ in the horizontal and everything else is 1.5″), but my guess is it NEEDS that to counter the longer spans with only two legs under each side rail
    – Three continuous crossbraces… there are no swinging crossbraces with keylocks or bolt-on spanner pieces, everything bolts up SOLID and FLAT; this configuration also seems to work better for our foundation, rather than two crossbraces with a head-to-toe rail down the middle (we like having crossbrace support all the way from side to side under the middle of our foundation since it has multiple head-to-toe rails of its own)
    – Longest side rails we’ve found at 77″

*** I suggest you take some creative license with spelling and rename the Glideaway “K”43 as the KOLOSSAL ***

    OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO BOOT 🙂
Buying from STL Beds was a breeze. It was promptly shipped and arrived quicker than expected. Great experience all around.

    Thanks!
