Many people don’t understand what a strong impact their mattress has on their lives. As humans, our bodies spend roughly a third of our lives resting. If you live to be 100 years old, you will have spent about 33 years of your life on a mattress. It is crucial to your health and well-being to spend those 33 years on a superior latex mattress as opposed to an inferior mattress made from low quality materials. Wouldn’t you rather start each day feeling refreshed and energetic? Consider making an incredible change in your life by switching to an organic latex mattress. You won’t regret it.
Resting Well as Circumstances Change
One of the best qualities of our bedding solutions is our adaptable mattress design. Our mattresses are very versatile in that you can change the firmness as your situation changes. If you hurt your back in the future and need to recover on a firmer bed, just unzip the casing top and turn over any layer of Dunlop for a slightly firmer feel. The layers are interchangeable so no matter your circumstances, you can rest well every night.
Which Type of Latex Is Right for You?
The two major types of latex are Talalay and Dunlop. Each process uses the same inputs and raw materials to make the finished product, but the manufacturing process is quite different. Because of this, each type of latex has a slightly different feel. You might be asking yourself, “Which feels better? Talalay or Dunlop?” No one can really say with certainty, though, as it all comes down to personal preference.
Dunlop Latex
Most people agree that Dunlop latex is slightly firmer than Talalay, yet still very soft. It has a denser feel than Talalay does and though Dunlop is resilient and responsive to your body, it is not bouncy. Some people say that the texture of Dunlop is analogous to pound cake because of its density. Due to its firmness, people usually opt for Dunlop latex when they want a soft bed to sleep in without feeling like they are sinking.
Talalay Latex
On the other hand, Talalay latex is noticeably softer than Dunlop. Each variety (soft, medium, and firm) is softer than its Dunlop counterpart. To use the cake analogy, Talalay can be compared to angel food cake. It still offers you a soft surface to sleep in without a sinking sensation just like Dunlop, but the texture is springier.
However, for individuals who weigh 200 pounds or more, we don’t normally suggest the softest Talalay. Instead, they tend to prefer the firmer options. For those who love a cushy surface that feels a little embracing, Talalay is a great solution.

Hello Doug,
I’ve been in your store a couple times and bought 2 latex pillows which I love! I am still not ready to buy at this time but by the end of the year I will be ready and will buy from you. I am looking at organic latex and the Saavy Rest brand. My question to you is does Saavy Rest ever run ANY promotions? And if they do, how can I be alerted to this. Even if its 2 free pillows. Are you laughing? Sorry, I always try to find some bargain if I can.
Chris Garrison
