Good news for customers and bad news for their competition Rothman Mattress Specialty Showrooms is coming to St. Louis. Rothman Furniture recently publicized in STLToday.com and Furniture World at Furnitureinfo.com that they would be introducing 12 independent mattress galleries to the Saint Louis Missouri metropolitan area. The first location is said to open at 11353 Olive Blvd. which is located in Creve Coeur MO. The opening is expected to take place fall 2012.
Reporting sources said that Rothman Furniture and Mattress plans to open a total of 7 locations by the end of the year. In 2013 they intend to add an additional five stores, a business plan that invests in the local St. Louis economy said Vicky Smith, President of Rothman Furniture and Mattress. Additionally there was a promise of continued growth as the company introduces the expansion of these new Rothman Mattress specialty showrooms.
Two companies that today literally dominate the bedding market will be the exclusive partners of Rothman’s new gallery stores. Serta known best for the marketing genius of talking numbered sheep, Serta® Perfect Sleeper, and the new iComfort by Serta®, a powerhouse in the visco elastic memory foam market with the introduction of Serta’s Cool Action™ gel memory foam. Serta was said by Furniture Today Magazine to of recently taken over the #1 spot in mattress sales industry wide when they acquired industry competitor Simmons® Beautyrest®.
The second bed buddy for Rothman’s will be specialty mattress giant Tempur-Pedic® who announced less than a week ago that they would buy Sealy® Corporation. Sealy is the maker of possibly the most branded mattress name ever built, the well-known Sealy Posturepedic®. It is expected that they will floor the exciting new series of mattress from Tempurpedic Simplicity which was designed with aggressive price points that will shake up the introductory price points for memory foam mattresses.
The spokes person for the company said they are “excited about their mattress specialty showroom expansion and being able to bring our unique brand of excellent customer service, innovative financing, and unmatched selection to more areas of our community.” Rothman’s started their business nearly eighty five years ago right here in St. Louis and with an aggressive expansion like this it is likely they will be here another 85 years.
