Are standard mattress sizes the same as waterbed sizes?
No. Wood framed waterbed mattresses and standard size mattresses are not the same size. However below are the 3 standard wood frame waterbed sizes. Along with them are the common correlating standard mattress sizes people often think will fit. As you will clearly see regular mattresses are not a good fit. Below the measurement I have provided a link that will solve such a dilemma.
- A Super Single waterbed cavity is 48 by 84 where twin size standard mattresses are 38 by 75 and full size standard mattresses are 54 by 75.
- A California Queen waterbed cavity is 60 by 84 and a standard queen mattress is 60 by 80
- A California King waterbed cavity is 72 by 84 and standard king mattresses measure 76 by 80
