20 Reasons Softside Waterbeds Are Making a Huge Comeback!

Back in the 1990’s when many people made the decision to give up their wood framed waterbeds the majority of them went back to a regular mattress, but was it for the wrong reason? Were they really relieved to have their brand name innerspring mattress back? Did these people have a clue as to what they were giving up and what they had just climbed into? It seemed most former waterbed owners were unaware that waterbeds had evolved into one of the most advanced sleeping surfaces a person could choose. When we talked to people most still thought that waterbeds were nothing more than a dark stained wooden 2 x 10 frame and a wavy bag of water.

What they discovered is that having a waterbed is as easy as owning a regular mattress and box spring. Many who had left the old wood frame waterbeds years ago, have found their way back by the means of modern softsided waterbed mattress and here is why.

  1. Looks like a regular bed
  2. Many people say nothing sleeps like their old waterbed. That’s because nothing reduces pressure points on the body better than waterbeds, not even memory foam.
  3. Moving the new softside waterbeds are easy because they do not require over 50 self-tapping wood screws, the skill of a carpenter to assemble, and a couple hours to assemble.
  4. Making a softside waterbed is easy.
  5. Bedding such as conventional twin, full, queen, and king sheets, mattress pads, bed skirts, and bedspreads. All of which can be found at your local department store.
  6. Getting in and out of a soft side waterbed is easy. No more climbing over a 2 X 10 wood frame. Cushy but durable foam parameters make up the sides of these beds.
  7. Setting softside waterbeds up and taking them down is very simple.
  8. They easily adapt to conventional bedroom furniture giving you a great look and the healthy benefits of sleeping on water.
  9. Prices are very reasonable especially when compared to the ordinary mattress and box springs, which usually cost more and give you less.
  10. Modern conventional waterbeds are heated. This keeps the body’s muscles and joints loose and helps relax the body to sleep.
  11. Additionally softsided waterbed heaters use very little energy making them efficient. This is done through lower watt heaters and well-insulated tops that keep the mattress temperatures steady throughout the changing seasons.
  12. Dual mattress bladders are available allowing each person to set the bed to their desired temperature. Dual water mattresses also decrease motion disturbance from one person to the other.
  13. Wide variety of water mattress choices. Many people are unaware that the same choices of bladders such as free flow, semi waveless, waveless, ultra waveless and super waveless are not only available for hardsides but also soft side water beds.
  14. Flotation softsided waterbeds are well protected from punctures or popping because the waterbed bladder is sheltered and secluded by a durable padded cover that also enhances the comfort and feel. Just as important the zippered tops protect the waterbed bladders from cats, dogs, body oils, dirt, and carelessness.
  15. Most zippered softside tops can be removed for easy cleaning and maintenance.
  16. Flotation softsides require virtually no maintenance compared to regular mattresses, which must be turned frequently and even flipped over to avoid body impressions.
  17. Softside waterbeds “This isn’t your daddies’ hardside waterbed”.
  18. Softside waterbeds weigh 30 to 60 % less than traditional hardside waterbeds.
  19. Can fool the landlord into thinking it is a regular mattress.
  20. Softside waterbeds hold up better for heavier people than traditional mattress and box springs.
